Stocksmoor Village Hall offers a large flexible space with great facilities. The Hall lends itself perfectly to serving as a venue for parties, celebrations, family gatherings, community and social events, meetings, workshops, musical and stage productions and more. What facilities does it have?

Stocksmoor Village Hall offers a large main hall which you can tailor to your event needs. 

It has a large central dance floor and an optional stage, 

There are a number of tables available for use which can be set up to allow for an event serving food if this is required:

• for a buffet style meal the Hall can accommodate up to 70 people
• for a sit down meal please contact the Hall Bookings Manager here  with  your requirements

The building offers modern facilities including:

• on site level car park with disabled parking provision
• plenty of additional unrestricted parking along Station Road
• easy access with a ramp for wheelchairs and pushchairs with large entrance / double doors
• large dance floor in main area of hall with additional stage area if required
• fully equipped modern kitchen including 2 electric ovens, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, plumbed in hot water heater, kettles
• use of all crockery, cutlery, utensils, mugs, glasses, etc.
• kitchen provides a large serving hatch opening directly onto main Hall
• modern toilet facilities with disabled toilet
• baby changing facilities
• use of all tables and chairs

How big is the Hall? How many people can it accommodate?

The main space of the Hall measures 123 square metres or 14 metres x 8.8 metres.

The Hall can accommodate up to 100 people depending on the layout used:

• Up to 100 people standing
• Up to 80 people seated as an audience (theatre style) without a stage
• Up to 70 people seated as an audience (theatre style) with a stage.

How long can I hire the Hall for?

Stocksmoor Village Hall can be hired for a one-off event or on a regular basis. Its available for hire on an hourly basis as well as half day, full day and evening.

What's included in the hire charges?

The hire charges include use of the main Hall and all tables and chairs. It also includes use of the kitchen to make hot drinks (using the kettles) and also the making of sandwiches and cold party food.

Use of the stage is optional at a one-off fee of £15.

Use of the kitchen appliances is an additional charge of £15.

How do I open up the Hall and lock up afterwards?

Stocksmoor Village Hall has a key holder who lives very local to the Hall and will be able to provide you with a key to open up the Hall.

They will make sure that they have made arrangements with you for returning the key once your event is finished.

Is alcohol allowed?

The Hall is not licenced - you may bring your own alcohol to your event providing it is not sold. 

If you do wish to sell alcohol to your guests you will need to apply for a Temporary Events Notice from Kirklees Council which will allow you to carry out a 'licensable activity' on an unlicenced premises.
